Get Inspired by your fellow Artists
The EAL meets on the first Thursday of each month from September through June where we exchange ideas, share advice, do projects together, conduct helpful and friendly critique sessions in a supportive environment, and enjoy and learn from presentations by artists and art professionals.
If you're an artist, or simply an art lover who is curious about becoming a member, we invite you to visit a meeting to see if it's a right fit for you.

Workshops & Projects
Collaboration & Fellowship

EAL members receive instructions for a round of the Exquisite Corpse," a fun activity to get those creative juices flowing!
There's always something exciting to get involved in. Members have organized workshops on oil painting techniques, collage art, watercolor and more.
Members can also propose group projects, for instance, contributing artwork to a pop-up book about the Essex Art League. Other examples of joint projects include creating Christmas cards to deliver to residents of area retirement homes and creating a book of birds of Vermont in a variety of media. The possibilities are endless!

Members can bring their own art to share with the group at meetings or swap supplies or let everyone know about a show they're in or an award they've received.

Organize or join in on a field trip to a nearby art museum or a new gallery!

Pursue Your Interests
Organize with Like-minded People
Within the organization are subgroups that you can join and participate in. For instance you can join our Plein Air Painters. They meet on a regular basis.

Or, if you're interested in selling or showing your art, you might wish to get involved in Business of Art (BOA), a subgroup that organizes shows and learns together how to promote and sell their art.

Show Your Art
EAL coordinates opportunities for you to show your artwork throughout the region with exhibitions at libraries and other public places including the Champlain Valley Fair. We continually share information about calls-to-artists and competitions.
