Alison Saunders

Watercolor, Oil

Through these paintings I want to inspire others by sharing my love of nature and landscape. I hope to convey the curiosity and joy I feel when painting and exploring nature.

This exhibit provides an important opportunity for me to celebrate one of our most valuable and immeasurable gifts- our environment. My desire to share my art and protect this resource is one of my goals. I hope you enjoy this work.

Bio

Alison has always wanted to be an artist. A love of drawing and making things lead to a BFA in ceramics and an MFA in fine arts. Drawing and painting are essential to her creative process. She began using oils and then watercolor, and is most engaged while painting. (EAL presenters and plein air group inspired her to try landscape painting).

She is delighted to paint plein air in the magnificent landscape of Vermont and New England, and finds watercolor a terrific medium: bold, subtle and expressive. Conveying the spirited nuances of weather and light is just one of the challenges. Her passion and determination is a gift. This work inspires a connection with nature and community.

She is a member of the Bryan Memorial Gallery, Northern Valley Arts Association, and Vermont Watercolor Society. Her work has been exhibited in these and other venues, and she is delighted to share her work.
