Bio

Diane M Szlachetka has utilized her creative energy throughout her life. Starting with Early American Decoration - primitive painting, theorem painting, stenciling, tole painting, reverse glass painting, Rosemaling - she expanded her interest to include fine arts. Primarily studying watercolor with Susan Tilton Pecora and Joan Steinmeyer she has also taken classes or workshops with artists Ann Harhay, Janet Walsh, Annelein Beukenkamp, Lisa Beach, Gary Eckhart, Robert O’Brien, Mick McAndrews, Karen Ramsay, Tim Saternow, and Sarah Yeoman. Expanding on different art mediums, Diane has also studied oil and pastel with Karen Winslow, Michael Chesley Johnson, Doug Dawson, Jacob Aquilar, Karen Margulis, Tony Alain, Stephie Clark and Liz Haywood Sullivan.

 

Diane has exhibited at the Springfield Museum of Fine Arts student show in Springfield,MA; Baystate Medical Center Art Gallery in Springfield MA; Dane Gallery Springfield, MA; Lanpher Memorial Library, Hyde Park, VT; Gruppe Gallery NVAA show Jericho, VT; Southern Vermont Art Center Vermont Watercolor Society show in Manchester, VT; Sugarhouse Gallery NVAA summer show in Jeffersonville, VT;  Copley Hospital Art Gallery, Morrisville, VT; NCPAAC show “Chasing Light” at the Community Center in Fort Collins, CO; MAC Gallery in Newport, VT; Waters of Life-farms, rivers & ponds – a Vermont traveling exhibit; Helen Day Art Center Member Show in Stowe, VT; Copley Manor Art Gallery in Stowe, VT;  TW Wood Art Gallery VWS HUB Show in Montpelier, VT; The Gallery CVMC; The Fleming Museum of Art, and regularly at the Bryan Gallery Member and juried exhibits in Stowe and Jeffersonville, VT.

 

She is a member of the Vermont Watercolor Society, the Vermont Pastel Society, the Northern Vermont Artists Association and the Tennessee Watercolor Society.
