Lydia Wisloski

Lydia Wisloski Fine Art
Watercolor, Acrylic, Clay

The natural beauty of Vermont inspires me, especially the rural areas, old farm structures and architecture. I am inspired by the strength, inventiveness and tenacity of people who grew up here. Similarly, I am drawn to worn and treasured objects, and their texture, transparency and reflective surfaces. I try convey the spirit of the people who lived in these places and held these objects, in my work.

Bio

Lydia Pellen Wisloski

Essex, Vermont artist, Lydia Wisloski, loves painting landscape and old architecture and structures tucked into it. She is fascinated by natural light play on surfaces, especially snow and water. As an artist and art teacher, and retired Realtor, Lydia enjoys people and likes the sense of people occupying space, but rarely includes people in her art, inviting the viewer to make it their own experience. She also likes to paint interesting objects and fabrics in complex still life arrangements. Lydia is an exhibiting member of Essex Art League, Northern Vermont Artist Association, Vermont Watercolor Society, North East Watercolor Society, and Valley Artist Guild.
