Watercolor

I came to Vermont as an outdoor adventurer, and now that the joints limit how deep I can get into the wilds, I use watercolor as exploration, for as John Muir put it, "Going out, I found, is really going in."  I strive to immerse myself in the natural world in search of looseness, flow, and the perfect waterfall.  Looseness and flow are hard to find, but I usually do end up immersed in the waterfall.

Bio

I grew up as the intellectual child of crafty parents, believing that art and music were gifts I had not been granted.  Instead, I pursued a career in engineering, somewhat successfully as I have seven registered patents in the US and China.  However, one summer in Alaska, when I pulled Betty Edwards's classic "Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain" off of my aunt's bookshelf, I discovered drawing.  It turns out art can be taught, and I've been dabbling ever since.
